Donnellan University of San Diego and Martha R. Leary (SLP) Halifax\, Nova Scotia in 2009\, Joyce-Lyn and a co-worker\, Karl Jacks\, developed this information program to help explain what was happening for people with Sensory and Movement Differences. Joyce-Lyn is passionate about supporting people with complex support needs and has worked in human services for 20 years. \nWho should attend? Information is relevant to everyone\, no matter their degree of experience in supporting people with disabilities. The session is targeted towards people with sensory processing problems\, family members or Service Providers supporting adults with a disability. DESCRIPTION:Sergeant Andrew Rickerby from Stuart Police Station is looking at having a procedure in place so police can readily identify if the person displaying antisocial behaviours is on the autism spectrum\, and hence requires special expertise to handle the situation. Many with children on the spectrum have found themselves in  situations involving the police and having to explain the child’s or young adult’s uncooperative behaviour. I have invited Sergeant Rickerby to speak at our next coffee morning. As he is unable to attend on the last Friday of this month we will run the coffee morning on : \n  \nWhen: Friday 5th October 2018. \nWhere: McDonald’s Aitkenvale \nTime: 10 am to noon \n  \nThis is an important event as one never knows if one’s child with autism suddenly finds himself or herself in conflict with the law. Come and have your say and let Sergeant Rickerby have some feedback.
